Iron Man 3

I don’t have school tomorrow, so a couple of friends and I are going to see Iron Man 3. I mean, Robert Downey Jr. Come on.

On worried though. I had a big snack after school (cheddar rice crisps, an apple and some of yesterdays supper) and I’m not in tip top shape emotionally so I’m not sure if I can trust myself to not buy a ton of, pardon my language, crap. I may buy some kind of salad and bring it I’m, but its a bit… Well, who eats a salad in the movies?!

Ive got my run tomorrow, and I walked for about 45 minutes (to and from school, walked my dog, the two dogs I walk for money and to my future college) but still.

This no calorie counting thing is hard.

MY FRIST 5 KM

OK, so I have run 5 km before. I run 3 every morning and I’m not out of breath. But this Friday, I will be running my first official 5 km. At a race! I’m looking forward to it!!!

I never was the one who loved to run. I was that friend lagging behind, saying “hey, wait up!” But now, now I can run longer than any of my friends. I wake up at 5:30 every morning and go running. I don’t regret it. Every run is a reminder of how far I’ve come, even since last month.

On the down side, this morning was really cold amend during my run, my thigh muscle kind of got hurt. Hopefully ill be able to a stretch it out and be as good as new for the Night Race!

Breakfast, Lunch and Yoga Mats

So. I haven’t posted anything in a while.

Well, things have been going good. For the past week I’ve been working out every morning before breakfast which always seems to start my day right. I mean, how could you not be happy when you see that you still have 1200, some times 1300 calories left in your day after breakfast?

I also got a yoga mat (finally! Thanks to my grandparents), but haven’t gotten around to using it with school and everything. Why does school always pile the projects on at the same time? I have three huge projects due the same week. Not helping my stress with upcoming standardized tests. And the stress of not having a prom dress yet. And the stress of looking for a job. And the stress of wondering how I’ll pay for university. But that’s a story for my other blog.

So, food-wise today, I made myself an egg white omelet with red bell peppers and had a cup of chai and a clementine. And a skinny vanilla latte from Starbucks ( all together 159 calories). For lunch, because I was too tired to make myself a lunch yesterday, I got a tomato mozzarella panini (390 calories). So, yeah, good day so far.

Sleep Blogging

I was going to blog about how tired I was and how walking to and from school was enough exercise but then thought…well nothing. My body wants the exercise, and sleep, mostly sleep, but I’ll sleep better knowing that I worked out. So I’m sleep-exercising, only I’m awake. Tomorrow I’ll read this post and see that I lost all sense of intellect because of the fatigue but be able to say: “I did it anyway”

OK, if I don’t go now I never will.

Sh!t Just Got Real

Okay…my diet today was less than spectacular, but I’m pretty sure I’ve managed to be around 1 600 calories. Not too shabby, but not what I want.

Two words: soft caramels and mini marshmallows. Those two things. Yes, I am PMSing.

Tomorrow, though, I am going clean. Yessir, clean. If I crave something I will drink tea, because tea is yummy. And because my friend is bringing me more chai. I will have salad for lunch ( we have chicken breast, that’s going to top it for protein), eggs for breakfast (pre-make egg white baked fritata tonight), drink 2L of water. Nothing store bought (veggies and tea excluded). My treat, will be a small price of toast and cream cheese (I should change this blog’s name to The Cream Cheese Chronicles…maybe I’ll make an other blog with only recipes). No Starbucks, Second Cup,my school’s cookies (I swear those things have something put into them to make us eat them and want them all the time. I bet they’re patented), caramel, mini marshmallows, milk chocolate. If I absolutely need chocolate, 70% and over. None of the high fat pepperoni we have in the fridge, or those kryptonite scones I made. I’ll bring them to school, give them away or toss them out. Oh, no smoothies (I get addicted and add chocolate which defeats their purpose) unless there’s veggies in them and if I’m sharing them. I’ll do my own workout everyday. I’ll be adding five everyday! And invent more. More workouts. But not everyday. Maybe I’ll make a BBC workout calendar. Sherlock, Dr. Who, Luther, Jekyll and Hyde (I highly recommend it, written by Moffat…need an other blog for BBC rants).

Re-reading the first sentence it sounds as if I’m quitting drugs or cigarettes. I’m quitting unhealthy food. Going cold turkey…never understood that saying…

backonpointe:

Two calendars for March: the basic calendar and the beginner’s calendar!

The directions are simple: find the current date on the calendar, see what workout(s) it asks for, and pick one from each section listed for that date. For example, if today it says “Arms” and “General,” I’d find an arm workout and a general workout to do today.

If you’d like to write about your experiences during the month or see how others are doing, please use the tag “BoP: March”. By all using this tag, we can see what others are doing during the month and send others encouragement along the way. Let’s all support each other on our journeys! (If you’re not on Tumblr but still use these calendars, feel free to update us on the Back On Pointe Facebook Page!)

During the month, remember that you should take as many rest days as you need, modify any workouts that you cannot do, stay hydrated, get more low-intensity cardio, and eat well.

Have fun!

p.s. Any of the calendars can be modified. If you are training for a half-marathon, feel free to count that as your cardio on cardio days. If you’re sore in the arms from helping a friend move, substitute a butt workout instead. It’s all about you!

Canadian winters - the reason gyms were created

Five fourty in the bloody morning

I woke up at 5:40 today. I woke up to workout. It felt great.

So far, I’ve had a mango smoothie and an egg white fritata like thing. 144 calories for breakfast.

I packed my lunch and its 276 calories. Chicken wrap, blueberries, celeri and a home made protein bar.

Celebrating my fifth year ‘anniversary’. Not any kind of romantic stuff, but the anniversary of a friends and my friendship. Not sure what we’ll make for dinner. Anyone got a recipe for spaghetti squash?

By the way…

ITS FRIDAY!

New Things!

You thought this was going to be as post about some kind of new object to article of clothing I got didn’t you? Admit it. Well it isn’t.

A few posts ago, I said that if you requested a tea, I’d try it and give a review. And I will. But on this lazy ( well, not really, crazy workout this morning) Saturday, I thought to myself “why not try EVERYTHING?” this was inspired by Pinterest. So, I decided to try any healthy recipe (I love cooking, its kind of my thing) that is requested of me. I’d add ‘and drink’ but it has to be homemade, because there are somethings that I can’t get because I’m in a different country than some of you (unless everyone on tumblr is Canadian…..didn’t think so)

So request away,mes amis!
